Capstone: Week Twenty-Two

Production week! I spent the beginning of the week preparing for screen printing. I printed out the film to make sure all of the designs were the right sizes. Later in the week I started embroidering the hats. Then I got to walk through the screen printing process. We made the screens with the film and then had to set up each screen for all the different clothing pieces. Everything went smoothly till we got to the hoodie and joggers. The lines on the hoodie didn’t come out great so I had to had paint some of the ink on. Then the pants didn’t fit on the board so we had to hold them and manually hold the screens. The first pair went ok and the second pair did not come out. They stuck to the screen and smeared and there was blue ink that came from somewhere. So, we got a new pair ordered. Then later that night I tried on the pants and the fit was terrible so I tried to see if I could order new ones. This has definitely been a learning process, but it’s good experience to have.
