Capstone: Week One

Hello, welcome to my capstone journey!

First Steps

This is the first week of putting ideas down on paper. I’ve been thinking about ideas for topics over the past few months, and now is the time to start collecting those thoughts!

At this point I have a few different topic ideas.

Searching for Worth

Everyone is searching for their identity. We go to these things to try to be satisfied, but we’re left feeling empty. We desire to feel worthy and enough. What would happen if we looked to truth to define these things instead of to a world that is constantly yelling in our face that we need to look and act a certain way?

The Importance of Rest

When people ask how your week was, how often do you respond with “busy?” If you’re anything like me, it’s probably a lot. If someone asked you to describe yourself without saying things that you do would you be able to? Today’s culture likes to glorify productivity. If we fall into this trap of constantly needing to have a full calendar we’ll eventually burn out. After all, we’re called human-beings not human-doings. What if we found time to rest and just be present and not constantly needing to rush to the next thing?

We Are All Creative Beings

Many people think they aren’t creative just because they don’t paint or draw. It seems that as people grow older, they feel like they grow out of creativity if they don’t fit into the traditional creative mold. We were all created in the image of the Creator of the world, it is in our DNA. We are all creative in our own unique ways, you just need to figure in what way.

I hope you follow along on my journey of exploring topics and creating this capstone!
